Blunt Blonde

Blog By Keva Doyle

Happy Friday lovelies, it is nice to be back after nearly a month break from Blunt Blonde. I took a break from the blog as I was dealing with some stuff and really lost my mojo. If you are not feeling in the humor or up to something then I never force it as it doesn't work. So today I am delighted to share a more winter appropriate outfit with you all, I saw this little jacket and loved the detail. It doesn't look half as nice on the hanger as it does when you have it on and I think it is perfect for the upcoming party season.
This is a casual look which can instantly be updated with a heel, I have since purchased a new pair of booths which will work really well for that day to night transition but love these boots. These are last season from Mango but I have linked very similar ones for you.
My wardrobe has recently gotten an injection of sparkle, probably because it is my birthday next week which for me always feels like the kick off the Christmas season.

I will soon be back in Dublin for a few days and I can't wait to be with my nearest and dearest for a while. This will be my longest stint at home since I moved to Miami and although I know I need to brace myself for the cold I am excited to get into some of my Winter wardrobe pieces and visit some of my favourites.
My plan is to also shoot quite a few outfits while I am home which I am excited to do.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Friday lovelies, I am sitting in bed (awake later than I should be) brainstorming ideas for blog posts. The nice thing about having the blog makes me think about my life and take stock of it.  This can be both a bad and good thing, but whichever one it is I always think you have the opportunity to learn and make a change. It is so easy for us all to get caught up and forget to take a much needed moment. The majority of us are letting life drift on by and counting down each weekday until the weekend arrives again but we need to change it up, grab the bull by the horns so to speak and enjoy the everyday more. I'm not just preaching to you but reminding myself of this.

We put so much pressure on ourselves on a daily basis when sometimes it is nice just to take a moment, switch off and take a breath or alternatively go full throttle into something you love and have been wanting to start, after all what is holding you back, if you answer this honestly you know the answer is probably you. Take away that barrier and you never know what could happen.
There is nothing like having an aspiration and achieving it, we get enough knocks in our life that when a positive opportunity comes along grab it with both hands. I am a firm believer in timing and everything happens for a reason so I am trying to embrace life that little bit more.
Since moving away I have learnt more about myself and also about who I want to surround myself with. I shudder to think this realization is because I am getting older but I am pretty positive it is because I had something I wanted to achieve and I am actually doing it. It still seems a little surreal and it happened later than I had hoped but it shows me that you should never give up on yourself and your dreams.

I feel like sometimes these blog posts are just a surge of whats going on in my head and then I write it down and wonder if anyone else thinks like I do. Let me know if you guys like these kinds of posts as they are that bit more personal.

On another note I am heading to Austin, Texas with work for the weekend and I am looking forward to seeing a new city. I am hoping to find a nice breakfast spot for Sunday morning so let the Insta scrolling begin.

Have a great weekend.

Morning lovelies and happy Tuesday, I hope you guys are all safe after Hurricane orphelia, it is hard to believe I am sitting here in Florida just over a month after witnessing the panic and devastation of Hurricane Irma and now I'm watching Ireland being hit by a hurricane. I do not know what is going on with Mother Nature at the moment but she is definitely giving us a hard time. I had friends with me for the weekend so I took a little break from posting on Instagram apart from instastories. I have so many Autumn / Fall looks to shoot but have been happily preoccupied with catching up with friends from home.

One of the places I always bring visitors to in Miami is Wynwood, there is nothing like it at home or anywhere for that matter and it really is quite a cool spot to hang out in and admire all of the art. I have noticed more and more foodie places popping up so there are plenty of spots to grab a coffee, ice-cream or a bite to eat. It is also amazing for photo backdrops which I usually take advantage of. These photos were shot quite a while back but I hadn't got around to posting them.

You can never go wrong with a black off the shoulder top and they really can be worn all year round, I have included some of my current faves below.

Ripped denim is something I wear quite a lot of and since it's a little too hot to wear jeans in Miami all of the time I mostly spend my time in denim shorts but I found this skirt a while back and love it. I did find the perfect pair of ripped mom jeans recently and they'll be coming soon to the blog, I can't wait to share them with you.
You know I always like to mix both high street and invest in key pieces and these shoes are nothing new to you as I have been wearing them on repeat but I just love that the investment pays off as they're so versatile. I found this little top in a boutique on Abbot Kinney, I loved the stripes (no surprises there) but the one shoulder detail is also so cute.

Also fun fact about this wall, my uncle built it and it made for the perfect backdrop to some photos in LA.

I had the girls here for the weekend and we had so much fun, slowly but surely I am getting to try more and more places in Miami and I am working on my top spots for Miami as I know a few of you have been asking so I promised they are coming. It is so nice to have the girls here and I have had so many visitors its been the perfect way to explore more of Miami.
The girls are back on Friday and I am already looking forward to the weekend and it's only Tuesday.

Hope you liked the post.

October comes around and it is usually at this time that I start to swap out my wardrobe and begin preparing for the cooler months. This is my first year I am not doing that, which is a little weird for me but that doesn't mean I haven't been eyeing up some colder weather appropriate items. I updated the shop section on the blog with some of my favorites for you to share but as always I like to invest in a good pair of boots and a coat each year. I always go for classic styles, items that will always work and are timeless. It is a good thing to think about your wardrobe holistically and know what will work best for you, whether thats navy, black a nude or even a pop of color. At the end of the day these two items should see you through until Spring and you will be wearing them most days. I also try and get quality items, such as suede / leather boots and a wool coat. These are relatively easy to find you just need to shop around, buying good quality means they last longer and you can keep adding to your seasonal wardrobe year on year. I looked back on a few posts from last year and it is mad the difference I see in myself, the pros and cons of having a blog I suppose, some of the outfits I don't know what I was thinking and I definitely know my body has changed and I am so much happier with it now.
So todays post I am sharing the boots and coats I have my eye on, let me know what you guys think. Click on any of the images below to take you through to the sites.

Coats & Jackets

Today I have another visitor arriving to see me in Miami, one of my oldest and best friends and I can't wait to see her, it's been nearly three months eek.

Hope you guys have a great day.
