Brunch in Whitefriar Grill

I had been told to try Whitefriar grill for some time now and never got around to it, I did manage to get there eventually and I was not disappointed. It is a really buzzy restaurant and the food was great. We got a table straight away and were looked after really well.

Now onto the important part - the pictures of the food we demolished!

Above is gambas benedict, a combination I have not seen before and seen as I like eggs Benedict and gambas separately I decdied to give it a try. I was delicious and nice to have something different from the norm.

Oh my god these waffles are amazing - especially if you have a sweet tooth. I shared them with my friend Andrea and half is definitely enough, they come with caramelized bananas, roasted hazelnuts, warm nutella and chantilly cream. It is very much like a desert so splitting it was the perfect solution!

We tried the elderflower berry lemonade and the mint lemonade both delicious although the mint lemonade tasted like a mojito without the rum. The drinks menu was amazing and there is a lot more on the menu that I would like to try.

The great news is that brunch is served from 10.30 in the morning until 4pm in the afternoon for both Saturday and Sunday. After having such a good experience at brunch I now want to try The Whitefriar Grill for dinner. My only feedback is that it is a pity that there is not more space for tables outside as we didnt get to enjoy the sunshine.

After brunch we decided to go for a walk in Stephens Green park and enjoy the sunshine. It has definitely been at least 5 years since I have walked through the park. It really is a gem to have in the middle of the city and very much like the Irish version of central park. The flowers were gorgeous in the park I had to take a picture with them.

I hope you enjoyed reading.

Summer Vibes

It is Friday thank god, it has been a crazy busy week this week for me as I am in Germany on a project. I was in Spain last week for a few days which gave me the opportunity to wear some of my Summer clothes,I love turquoise and have bought a few items in this colour for the Summer season. I love that skorts are back in style. I had several skorts from Gap when I was younger and loved them and this one is fab. I paired it with a white blouse and turquoise and orange accessories.

This necklace I bought in a local shop in Marbella town.
This Orange Mulberry clutch adds a great pop of colour to any outfit and just happened to go with the gorgeous flowers outside.

I have to say I really like these barely there heels. They featured on one of my weekly wish list posts and I wasn't sure if they would suit my shape but I think they're gorgeous and help elongate the legs which a girl is never going to complain about!

Brunch with the girls

Happy Friday everyone! We are that bit closer to the weekend. I always like to have something planned for the weekend and brunch is usually one of the things on my list.

Over the last number of years I have found it increasingly difficult to meet up with friends, mainly due to people being at different stages, hectic work schedules, boyfriends etc. My solution for this is brunch - who doesn't love going for brunch? It is the perfect time for a girly catch up and is so relaxing not to mention it involves food, one of my favorite things. I adore going on a Sunday, usually after a night out  when all you need is some food and a good catch up with your friends. Most of the time we end up in Ranelagh in Dublin purely as there is so many choices of places to go. I was yet to try Dillingers so we decided to grace it with our presence!

We hadn't booked a table in advance but decided to wing it and we were lucky to bag the last three stools at the bar. It was jam packed with a great buzz. We all decided to try something different and try each others out, I love having a
little taste of everything when I am trying somewhere new.

The omlette was a tasty yet healthy option, I must admit it was my friend who ordered this and not me.

The huevos rancheros is not something I would usually order but seen as we were all getting something different and this sounded good I thought I would give it a shot. Topped with beans, cheese, avocado and and oozing fried egg it definitely hit the spot. If you are not a jalapeno fan don't fret - you can always ask for the dish without them. I for sure am not one for jalapenos but my sharing partner was so we got them.

We also ordered the American style stacked pancakes topped with bacon and maple syrup. These were tasty but I really think I am more of a crêpe type of gal. They were that bit too heavy and there was definitely not enough maple syrup, then again I do have a sweet tooth.

I am glad we tried it and we had such a good laugh but I wouldn't be racing back for the food, it was tasty but not amazing. The hunt is on for the best brunch in Dublin!

A Touch of Tortoiseshell

This outfit is so casual and comfortable and was perfect for dinner in the Old Town. Walking through the town is one of the things I love most, I especially loved the tiled benches in the park and thought these were the perfect backdrop for this post. The outfit  is a mix of old and new items which is the most realistic everyday style for everyone.

I love gold jewelery especially in the summer months as I think it looks even better against sun kissed skin.

The sunglasses are a new purchase from Zara I love tortoiseshell and really liked the shape of these glasses also.

We ate in a restaurant called Casanis and it is a really gorgeous setting with loads of character. After dinner we meandered our way down to a cocktail bar for a few more drinks.

Top / River Island

I hope you enjoyed.

A Pop of Pink and a Plate of Food

As you guys know I was in Spain last week for a few days. This post is a mix of fashion and food. On your first night of holidays you are not all that bronzed and a dressy long sleeved top is perfect. I love this top from Zara and have gotten so much wear out of it over the last two months. I teamed it with a pair of cream textured shorts, a pink bag and tan heels.

We headed to a new restaurant after getting a raving review from a friend. The restaurant is called Funky Tapas, it is so cheap and absolutely delicious. It is on a quiet road so we got a table outside. We had been told it was good but it exceeded our expectations. It is great to find somewhere which is so reasonably priced but that the food is amazing. We got a selection of Tapas between us and all tried each others, isn't that what Tapas is all about?

They  also served unbelievable cocktails and wine and all at a great price. I must admit we went back twice during our trip as it was just so good. On our last night there we found out that the chef was Irish and he was good enough to send out a drink on the house at the end of our night. Everyone who goes to Marbella needs to try this restaurant. Unlike the restaurants in Puerto Banus it is not overly priced and poor quality.

Hope you enjoyed the post, I know it has definitely made me pine for a return visit.

Sixties Inspired Kimono

With the sun out shining we all want to take advantage of the warm weather and wear our Summer pieces. This outfit is casual and perfect for a BBQ or a girls lunch. I know kimonos are a big hit this year but this is a twist on the kimono as it is a kimono jacket. I had to to include some pictures of the flowers I saw on Grafton Street this weekend as they were just gorgeous!

The outfit is a mix of high street and designer pieces. What I like about this kimono is that it can be worn so many different ways and I definitely plan on bringing it to Spain with me as it is fab over a bikini.

Weekly Wish List

Happy Sunday! I am lusting after a lot of items this week, sorry the post is later in the week than usual but better late than never! Most of the items are quite summery that is probably because I am going to Spain next week and thinking about the warm weather.I cannot wait for some sun, sea and cocktails!

This necklace is amazing, it is on my list for Spain. With so many colours it could go with absolutely everything. It is perfect for dressing up a plain white T-shirt or glamming up a dress.

These Triangl bikinis are just the dream, they come in all different shapes and colours but I love this one. I also love the turquoise one, I got a very similar bikini to these from River Island at a cheaper price. It featured on my first weekly wish list from 15.05.14

This bag is from Zara - it is Saffiano leather, this material is used by quite a few brands such as Prada and Michael Kors. It is much easier to maintain and because it is not as prone to scratches or scuffing the bag lasts longer without looking as worn. The colour is amazing - it reminds me of watermelon which reminds me of beaches and sun and happy times. At €49.95 it is definitely a steal.

I have seen a few versions of these barely there heels but these are fab. Steve Maddens in natural leather they will go with everything and are just damn HOT! At $79.95 they are an amazing price as with the currency rate they're under €60.00 the problem is they don't ship to Ireland. I have found a very similar pair except in turquoise which I love in Zara and at a cheaper price.

They are amazing on, and just under €40 and available in Ireland. It would only be a mistake to leave them...right?

This Sarong is an absolute steal at €4.95 from H&M, perfect for throwing over your bikini and heading to the beach or going for a spot of lunch in a beach-side restaurant.

I love all of the pastel colours that were in for Spring and they are still around for the Summer collections. Below is a Miss Selfridge dress, I love the shape, the colour and just think it is a great addition for the Summer wardrobe.

I have to admit I am like an excited child when it comes to holidays, just ask anyone I know. I will have a few posts from my time in Spain. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading.
