New Years Feast in London

I have been meaning to put this post up for a while and have eventually gotten around to it. New years can usually be a let down and what I have found in recent years is that you need to have something planned in advance. If that is with friends in the local pub, in the country with family or just a nice meal at home. This year we wanted to celebrate in style as it has been a good year for us, my chap passed his final exams and I started something I have wanted to do for years which is the blog, so we headed to London!

New years calls for sparkles and I decided to wear a classic black dress but bring it to life with its accessories. These earrings I picked up in Topshop while over in London and this clutch is one I had. I have lived in these shoes since I got them.

We got ready and dressed up for the occasion and kicked the night off with a glass of champagne, well it was a celebration!

We wanted to go somewhere we had been before and that we knew was good, as more often than not on new years you are served up muck because all the kitchen cares out is getting the plates out. So we decided on Corrigans in Mayfair.

First up was our starter of prawn and lobster salad.

Followed by some fresh sea bass with caramelized cauliflower and truffle.

Although I opted for the fish I had to try the beef and I am so happy I did, it was melt in your mouth kind of stuff.

I went for the chocolate pud - after all it was still the festive season, when all we seem to do is eat and drink!

These little macaroons were not your average vanilla or chocolate they were little Christmas pudding macaroons and they were delicious but the homemade truffles were to die for!

We headed over to Claridges to ring in the New Year with a band playing and a joyous countdown we couldn't have picked a better spot. This was followed by a bagpiper wandering through the hotel dressed in the full traditional attire.

New years in London is one I won't forget.
