Carry On Essentials!

You know I love going on trips and weekend trips are one of my favourite. The only problem is I just cant justify booking a bag on for a short trip so over the years I have learned to pack like an absolute master. It has become a joke amongst my friends, they just don't understand how I get so many outfits into the bag. Today's post is more focused on my carry on travel essentials that I won't leave home without.

On holidays I like to keep my makeup to a minimum, it is essential to pack a good mascara and lipgloss. I have a lipgloss with factor in it from Hawaiian Tropic for the day time and Laura Mercier for night. I also pack my beloved Nars "orgasm" blush to give that fresh glowy look as it has a gorgeous shimmer in it.

Flowers, Food & Fun!

I know I always say it but Ireland on a good day is just magical. We had a girls day out planned for ages and the weather was in our favour. Make yourself a nice coffee before reading as this post is picture heavy :)

Blue Stripes!

What can I say I find it hard to pass up on anything with stripes, especially the jumpers from Cos. I decided to change it up go all out and and get a t - shirt instead. A blue and white stripe is something that will never go out of fashion.

I decided to get my shorts out but I wouldn't recommend it on a cold day in Ireland. The day I shot these pictures it was warm, well by Irish standards and this coat was the perfect cover up. I cant share the link as it inst online but it is from H&M and is available in stores.

Homemade Basil & Garlic Pesto

I swear this is stuff you will get up in the middle of the night for. I have always been an avid fan of pesto and it has been something I wanted to make for ages. Although I knew what all of the ingredients were I only decided to make my own version this weekend.

This is the perfect item to have in your fridge if you are having friends coming, or just want to eat yourself. Equally it is a gorgeous gift to bring to someones house.

Ingredients
Olive oil
Parmesan
Fresh Basil
Salt & Pepper for seasoning
Roasted pine nuts
2 large bulbs of garlic (can use more if you are a garlic fiend like me)

The biggest thing about this recipe is that the ingredients need to be good, in fact with all meals the ingredients makes the dish. I used fresh basil from the garden, good quality olive oil and roasted the pine nuts slowly.

Black Tie Ball!

Who doesn't like going to a Black Tie Ball. They used to happen so regularly in college and now that I am in the working world (have been for four years) they are a rare occasion. It is the perfect excuse to doll yourself up and wear a full length gown.

Luxe For Less!

I always wanted my blog to be aspirational but not having to spend your entire paycheck to achieve that look that you wanted. I love mixing high street with designer and think you can always make an outfit look expensive with the right styling. Don't get me wrong I am all for designer wear but if I can create the look for less then I will definitely do that. Sometimes items are out of your price range so you have to improvise and hunt down their long lost twin! There are so many bargains out there at the minute especially for shoes that I wanted to share with you.

A Seaside Gem!

I am a sucker for a seaside setting and this little gem in Marbella is definitely a spot for a romantic night out. You can hear the ocean as you dine and their are tiny little birds flying in and out.

Ripped Jeans!

Normally my weekend wear is comfy and casual, you may have noticed that ripped jeans are one of my go to outfit pieces at the minute and they are one of the easiest items to dress up or dress down.

Who doesn't love hats! They are one of the best accessories you can have whether it's with a casual outfit or with a bikini on the beach. I think they make you feel so ladylike. This one is an absolute steel and the ribbon detail is divine.

Flowers & Palm Trees

Looking out the window at this weather makes you want to wrap up and stay in bed. I really wish Ireland had seasons where you knew that you were guaranteed some sun for at least three months of the year, how amazing would that be.In any case I have another outfit post from my travels to share with you.

Beachside Boho!

I love dressing up but sometimes, especially on holidays I love to relax, let the hair go au natural and be comfy going for dinner. This outfit is one I love and will definitely be wearing again, it has that boho festival vibe going on and I love it.We headed down to the beach for a cocktail before heading for some tapas.
