Rainbow Wall

Morning lovelies and happy Tuesday, I hope you guys are all safe after Hurricane orphelia, it is hard to believe I am sitting here in Florida just over a month after witnessing the panic and devastation of Hurricane Irma and now I'm watching Ireland being hit by a hurricane. I do not know what is going on with Mother Nature at the moment but she is definitely giving us a hard time. I had friends with me for the weekend so I took a little break from posting on Instagram apart from instastories. I have so many Autumn / Fall looks to shoot but have been happily preoccupied with catching up with friends from home.

One of the places I always bring visitors to in Miami is Wynwood, there is nothing like it at home or anywhere for that matter and it really is quite a cool spot to hang out in and admire all of the art. I have noticed more and more foodie places popping up so there are plenty of spots to grab a coffee, ice-cream or a bite to eat. It is also amazing for photo backdrops which I usually take advantage of. These photos were shot quite a while back but I hadn't got around to posting them.

You can never go wrong with a black off the shoulder top and they really can be worn all year round, I have included some of my current faves below.

Ripped Denim

Ripped denim is something I wear quite a lot of and since it's a little too hot to wear jeans in Miami all of the time I mostly spend my time in denim shorts but I found this skirt a while back and love it. I did find the perfect pair of ripped mom jeans recently and they'll be coming soon to the blog, I can't wait to share them with you.
You know I always like to mix both high street and invest in key pieces and these shoes are nothing new to you as I have been wearing them on repeat but I just love that the investment pays off as they're so versatile. I found this little top in a boutique on Abbot Kinney, I loved the stripes (no surprises there) but the one shoulder detail is also so cute.

Also fun fact about this wall, my uncle built it and it made for the perfect backdrop to some photos in LA.

I had the girls here for the weekend and we had so much fun, slowly but surely I am getting to try more and more places in Miami and I am working on my top spots for Miami as I know a few of you have been asking so I promised they are coming. It is so nice to have the girls here and I have had so many visitors its been the perfect way to explore more of Miami.
The girls are back on Friday and I am already looking forward to the weekend and it's only Tuesday.

Hope you liked the post.

Wardrobe Update

October comes around and it is usually at this time that I start to swap out my wardrobe and begin preparing for the cooler months. This is my first year I am not doing that, which is a little weird for me but that doesn't mean I haven't been eyeing up some colder weather appropriate items. I updated the shop section on the blog with some of my favorites for you to share but as always I like to invest in a good pair of boots and a coat each year. I always go for classic styles, items that will always work and are timeless. It is a good thing to think about your wardrobe holistically and know what will work best for you, whether thats navy, black a nude or even a pop of color. At the end of the day these two items should see you through until Spring and you will be wearing them most days. I also try and get quality items, such as suede / leather boots and a wool coat. These are relatively easy to find you just need to shop around, buying good quality means they last longer and you can keep adding to your seasonal wardrobe year on year. I looked back on a few posts from last year and it is mad the difference I see in myself, the pros and cons of having a blog I suppose, some of the outfits I don't know what I was thinking and I definitely know my body has changed and I am so much happier with it now.
So todays post I am sharing the boots and coats I have my eye on, let me know what you guys think. Click on any of the images below to take you through to the sites.

Coats & Jackets

Today I have another visitor arriving to see me in Miami, one of my oldest and best friends and I can't wait to see her, it's been nearly three months eek.

Hope you guys have a great day.

Polka Dot & Denim

Happy Hump Day lovelies. This week is flying in, well actually this month has just gone by in the blink of an eye. We headed for happy hour sushi last week and this outfit is what I wore. Over here most places have Happy Hour which is amazing as you get both food and drinks for nearly half price which makes eating out way more affordable so right before we had dinner I spotted this vintage white Porsche, I really do have a thing for vintage cars and especially loved this one.

I have started to make little changes to my wardrobe for the cooler months but as it doesn't get much cooler here in Miami it is definitely an adjustment. I am watching people get into winter boots, knits and I am still in my Summer gear. It seems the colors in the stores change but I will not have the need to be wrapped up like I would at home and I am excited to experience the winter months in the sun. Although, I am sure I will be traveling to colder states and will need to have a few bits so I would always keep the eye out.

I love the look of this little dress but it is a little more figure hugging than I imagined. It is true to size but a little shorter and a little more cleavage on show than I expected. I picked up fresh converse recently, they're ideal for traveling and they can also be worn with dresses or skirts, plus I buy the kids size so they're half the price.
I fly to New York this morning with work, I am there for two days for events and then I fly back in time for Cs arrival on Friday night. It has been very busy lately so I am finding the blog a little personal outlet, as always it is hard to strike the right work life balance but even if I stay up a little late I find writing my posts is a little haven for me.

I hope you are all having a great week so far.

LA // Part Two

Happy Monday! It is hard to believe I am back in Miami over a week now but I still have LA content to share with you guys, although I have been a few times there is still so much to do and see. Especially because it was my brothers first time to the West Coast, it was pretty cool that we got to explore it together and I was able to do things I never had before. We checked out some new beaches, went to an LA rams game and we did the very tourist thing of going and seeing the Hollywood Sign as well as a bunch of other things all while fitting it around my work schedule. We also got to spend time with family which I really miss while I am in Miami.
I have been finding that I have been wearing one pieces more this year than ever and I love them. I also love being fresh faced so you may notice I have no makeup on and my face looks super pale in this post but I wear a really high factor on my face and always wear a cap, especially since moving to sunnier climates I'm even more attentive to my skin.
I had been meaning to try a plant based Mexican restaurant called Gracias Madre for a while and I was delighted we got a chance to do that, the atmosphere was so good and the food was delicious so this is a firm favorite on the list for return trips (wishful thinking) I know but I would love to spend more time there. I am not a vegan but I can't have dairy as I am allergic so it is so nice going to a restaurant that I don't have to worry about being the awkward one at the table.

I'm off to New York later this week for work and then C arrives on Friday, I can't wait.

Have a great week.

LA // Part One

Happy Hump Day lovelies, It is nice to be back to a routine and posting here again. It does take a while to settle back in and now that the apartment is back to normal I feel like it is home again. As you know from my Instagram, Hurricane Irma meant we had an unexpected visit to LA. Although I was working while I was there the time difference from the West Coast to the East Coast meant I started my day earlier (usually calls from 6.30am) but finished in the afternoon. This left the evenings for exploring LA and trying out some spots on my list.
An Iced coffee is something I pretty much have everyday but because we hit up Carrera Cafe I wasn't going to turn down the opportunity for some cool coffee art, after all thats why we went there.
Although you would think it was planned we actually stumbled across the infamous pink wall and although not an original backdrop I still love it so we took some shots in front of it.
This little playsuit is one I picked up in a store on Abbot Kinney, packing in a panic really meant I did not have enough clothes especially since we were there longer than expected so I may have purchased one or two items. I love the ruffle detail and you know my feelings on stripes. I have linked loads of similar ones here.
I always like trying out new coffee spots so I have shared some of my most loved ones from my recent visit.

2. Alfred Coffee

My brother left yesterday :( and my friend Kate arrives today so I have lots of visitors at the moment. The weekend is on the horizon.

Have a great day.
